My Favorite Places to Shop

A collection of my favorite specialty stores in the Westchester & Greenwich area that I recommend with confidence.

I live in what we refer to as the “Sound Shore” area of Westchester County, NY. It’s about 45 minutes away from the heart of Manhattan and about 10 minutes away from downtown Greenwich, CT. In this area, we have some of the best fresh food in the world at our fingertips. Gourmet and specialty stores are available to us where there are not in other parts of the county. When you are lucky enough to live in an area like this where butchers and fish mongers can still be found, then you have no excuse to not only shop local to support them, but to take advantage and enjoy the quality local ingredients at the same time.

I am obsessed with food. But not just any food. I am obsessed with quality food and live under the belief that “Every bite should be the best bite.”  The problem with this is that it can take a lot of time and a lot of money.  For a foodie, it’s like a blessing and a curse. My obsession for needing the best possible products inevitably results in me spending 4 hours food shopping because I need to go to a variety of markets to get the ‘best’ each shop has to offer. As hard as I have tried, I can’t seem to settle for food items that are “less than” just to save some time when I know the “best” is available if I just make oneeeee more stop. However the end result is really great food!
